Egypt Advances Solar Ambitions with 75 MW Project Backed by IRSC, ACO, Sungrow and Tongwei

In a significant boost to Egypt’s renewable energy sector, IRSC for Renewable Energy Solutions has signed a strategic framework agreement with Arab Consulting Office (ACO), along with global energy technology leaders Sungrow and Tongwei, to develop 75 megawatts (MW) of solar photovoltaic (PV) projects across the country.

The agreement was formalized to lay the groundwork for a long-term partnership aimed at supporting Egypt’s Vision 2030 objectives. It will integrate Tongwei’s high-efficiency PV modules and Sungrow’s advanced inverter and energy storage technologies, with ACO acting as the local partner and system integrator. The joint initiative is expected to accelerate the nation’s transition towards a clean energy future and strengthen Egypt’s role in regional renewable energy leadership.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Eng. Aya Zanaty, Chairman of ACO, emphasized the strategic importance of the collaboration:

“This agreement marks a new chapter in Egypt’s clean energy journey. Through this strategic collaboration, we are reinforcing our commitment to delivering world-class renewable energy projects that accelerate Egypt’s transition towards a sustainable future.”

Eng. Zanaty also highlighted the long-standing partnerships underpinning the agreement, noting ACO’s over-decade-long collaboration with IRSC and its six-year alliance with Sungrow, which has resulted in several successful utility-scale and commercial & industrial (C&I) solar installations tailored for Egypt’s unique climate and energy grid needs.

Eng. Andrew Daniel, Chairman of IRSC, echoed the sentiment, stating:

“Our partnership reflects a shared vision of empowering communities through sustainable energy solutions. By combining global expertise with local execution, we aim to drive impactful change and support Egypt’s leadership in the renewable energy sector.”

He further noted that the agreement serves as a scalable model for clean energy adoption within Egypt’s industrial sectors and signals IRSC’s continued efforts to deploy sustainable technologies across the country.

From the technology providers’ side, Mr. Moustafa Abdelmonem, North Africa Director at Sungrow, reiterated the company’s commitment to Egypt:

“Egypt is a cornerstone of Sungrow’s regional strategy. This agreement reflects our shared commitment to delivering reliable, scalable, and future-ready energy solutions that align with Egypt’s sustainability goals.”

Mr. Harvey Zhang, Sales Director of MENA at Tongwei, added:

“Egypt represents a strategic milestone in Tongwei’s global expansion. Partnering with ACO and IRSC enables us to accelerate the adoption of high-efficiency solar technologies and support the region’s transition to clean, affordable, and resilient energy systems.”

This latest development adds to IRSC’s expanding portfolio of industrial decarbonization projects and further solidifies the company’s role in shaping Egypt’s green economy through innovative renewable energy collaborations.
