A high-level delegation from Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation PJSC (Empower), the world’s largest district cooling services provider, is set to participate in the IDEA Campus Energy 2025 global energy conference in Boston, USA. The event, organized by the International District Energy Association (IDEA), will take place from February 3 to 6, 2025, under the theme “Accelerating the Energy Transition.” Empower joins as the diamond sponsor for the second consecutive year, reinforcing its commitment to advancing sustainability in the energy and district cooling sectors.

The delegation is led by His Excellency Ahmed Bin Shafar, CEO of Empower, who will also attend the IDEA Board of Directors meetings as an honorary board member. The conference will bring together over 1,000 global participants to discuss district energy innovations and strategies to accelerate the transition toward low-carbon cooling solutions.

Empower’s team will engage in workshops and technical field tours at Tufts University Cogeneration Plant and Vicinity’s Kendall Plant to explore cutting-edge technologies that enhance energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions. These visits aim to highlight advancements in district cooling infrastructure and their role in promoting sustainable urban development.

Commenting on the sponsorship, HE Ahmed Bin Shafar stated, “Empower’s support for this global event underscores our commitment to fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange in the district cooling industry. We aim to lead the sector towards a more sustainable future by driving innovation and efficiency in energy systems.”

He further emphasized that Empower’s partnership with IDEA aligns with its mission to enhance resilience in urban cooling networks while supporting global sustainability efforts. The company continues to develop energy-efficient cooling solutions that contribute to reducing carbon footprints across cities, university campuses, and commercial communities worldwide.
