Enphase Energy Ships 6.5 Million Microinverters and 50 MWh of Batteries from U.S. Facilities, Boosting Domestic Content

Enphase Energy, Inc., a global leader in energy technology and microinverter-based solar and battery systems, announced that it has shipped over 6.5 million IQ® Microinverters and 50 MWh of IQ® Batteries from U.S. contract manufacturing facilities. Around one million of these microinverters feature higher domestic content compared to previous models, making them eligible for the “Domestic Content Bonus Credit” with less reliance on additional U.S.-made solar equipment.

In 2023, Enphase began shipping IQ8HC™ Microinverters from its South Carolina and Texas facilities. The company also recently shipped its first IQ® Battery 5Ps from the U.S. Both the microinverters and batteries with the “DOM” suffix are designed to help solar projects qualify for the Domestic Content Bonus Credit. These milestones coincide with Enphase’s ongoing expansion of its manufacturing capabilities, including shipments of IQ8X™ Microinverters and IQ8P-3P™ Commercial Microinverters with higher domestic content.

John Black, owner of Black Platinum Solar & Electric, an installer of Enphase products, commented that the milestone goes beyond just numbers, emphasizing that it validates the superior performance and reliability of Enphase’s microinverters and batteries. He noted that the quality and consistency of these products have set a high standard for the industry.

Cole Anderson, owner of Blossom Solar LLC, an installer of Enphase products, expressed admiration for the rapid growth of Enphase’s U.S. manufacturing initiative. He highlighted that the focus on advanced technology being shipped from American facilities has created a winning formula for their customers.

Brad Spernak, managing member and chief technology officer at ProSolar, an installer of Enphase products, stated that the microinverters and batteries now shipping from the U.S. have strengthened their offerings. He added that these products enable them to take on a broader range of projects, including those that require domestic components.

Ken Fong, senior vice president and general manager of the Americas and APAC at Enphase Energy, remarked that shipping 6.5 million microinverters is enough to support over 300,000 American homes. He emphasized that approximately 80% of all Enphase microinverter shipments now come from the United States, underscoring the real impact of these milestones and Enphase’s commitment to American energy dominance.
