ERC Hosts EGATi Delegation to Strengthen Philippine-Thailand Energy Cooperation

The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC), led by Chairperson and CEO Atty. Francis Saturnino C. Juan, welcomed delegates from the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand International Company Limited (EGATi) during a meeting at the ERC Main Office in Pasig City on Thursday, 19 February 2026. ERC Commissioners Floresinda G. Baldo-Digal, Marko Romeo L. Fuentes, Amante A. Liberato, and Paris G. Real joined the discussions.

The EGATi delegation, headed by President Ms. Ransima Pakkoh, engaged with the ERC to gain a deeper understanding of the Philippine energy market, review key regulatory initiatives, and explore potential areas for bilateral cooperation.

Legal Service Director Atty. Corazon S. Gines, Regulatory Operations Service Acting Director Engr. Alvin Jones M. Ortega, and Market Operations Service Director Sharon O. Montañer led discussions covering the Performance-Based Regulation (PBR), Retail Competition and Open Access (RCOA), and the Green Energy Auction Program (GEAP), providing the delegation with a comprehensive overview of the current Philippine energy landscape.

Through the engagement, the ERC emphasized its commitment to fostering strategic partnerships with foreign energy institutions, reinforcing collaborative initiatives aimed at advancing and strengthening the Philippine energy sector.
