Falcon enters California market through Encore acquisition

US packaged gas distribution platform Falcon Gases has made its first acquisition, buying Southern California gas and welding supply distributor Encore Gas and Supply.

In parallel, Falcon has secured a majority investment from US private equity firm Odyssey Investment Partners, providing capital to support Falcon’s expansion and acquisition strategy across the US distribution market.

Terms of the transactions were not disclosed.

Pete Jeffe, CEO of Falcon, noted, “These transactions create a strong foundation for Falcon to execute its strategy of becoming a…large-scale independent packaged gas distribution platform.”

Founded in late 2025, Falcon aims to support independent, regional distributors while growing its broader US distribution platform across industrial, medical, specialty, and bulk gases, in addition to welding supplies.

From its three Southern California locations, Encore offers packaged gas and microbulk distribution, bulk gas sales, welding equipment and supplies, and technical services.

“Our approach is focused on not just acquiring businesses but forming partnerships with owners and managers to work cohesively to build Falcon together,” added Jeffe.
