First Ever Solar Contractors Meet Varanasi 2026 Marks a Strong Debut in the Region

FirstView successfully hosted Solar Contractors Meet Varanasi 2026 at Taj Ganges, Varanasi, bringing together 250 plus EPCs, system integrators, installers, policymakers, financial institutions, and technology providers for a focused day of execution driven dialogue supporting Uttar Pradesh’s rapidly expanding solar ecosystem.

Designed as a contractor centric platform, the event enabled meaningful discussions around depoyment of solar projects under pm surya yojana, pm kusum yojna, public sector solarization, project quality, financing access, and scalable business models for solar professionals across the state.

The event began with a Welcome Address by Ms. Geeta Takkar, Associate Director Media Services, FirstView Group, who highlighted the importance of execution focused platforms in strengthening India’s solar contractor ecosystem.

Setting the tone for the day, Mr. Parag Misra, President, Solar Energy Vendors Association, delivered the opening keynote address, emphasizing the growing role of EPCs and installers in advancing rooftop and distributed solar under government led programs.

A keynote address by Shri Shashi Kumar Gupta, Senior Project Officer, Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency, provided valuable insights into state level policy direction, execution priorities, and progress under PM Surya Ghar and public infrastructure solar initiatives in Uttar Pradesh.

Participants gained practical market and technology insights through a series of techno commercial presentations by leading solution providers, focusing on bankable technologies, compliance readiness, and efficient execution across residential, institutional, and C and I solar projects.

A dedicated knowledge presentation by Ms. Shilpi Sharma, Associate, Rocky Mountain Institute, explored on ground implementation of PM Surya Ghar in Varanasi, covering execution workflows, stakeholder coordination, and quality assurance practices.

The agenda featured two focused panel discussions.

The first panel, PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana. Powering Rooftops and Public Solar Projects in Uttar Pradesh, examined rooftop adoption, public school solarization, railway linked solar innovations, grid integration challenges, and contractor capability building.

The second panel, Scaling Solar Success. Smarter Finance, Practical Technology and Scalable Operations, addressed financing pathways, working capital management, digital tools, operational efficiency, and long term sustainability for scaling EPC businesses.

An expert talk by Mr. Rohit Kumar Sharma, CEO and Founder, R K Solar, further reinforced the importance of quality, compliance, and performance benchmarks in future ready solar project execution.

The day concluded with the Solar Contractors Awards 2026 and Surya Ghar Mitra Awards, honoring outstanding contractors, EPCs, and solution providers for excellence in execution, innovation, safety, and operational performance. The awards were presented by Shri Arvind Kumar Singhal, Chief Engineer Technical, Purvanchal Vidyut Vitaran Nigam Limited, who joined as the Guest of Honor.
