Kirloskar Ferrous Commissions 35 MWp Solar Plant at Jalna In Maharashtra

Kirloskar Ferrous Industries Limited has commissioned an additional 35 MW DC solar power plant at its Jalna site in Maharashtra, expanding the facility’s total installed solar capacity to 105 MW DC.

The newly commissioned solar plant has been developed alongside the company’s existing 70 MW DC solar facility. The combined capacity will support the power requirements of Kirloskar Ferrous through the captive open access mechanism.

The company said the expansion is part of its continued efforts to increase the use of renewable energy and strengthen the sustainability of its operations. By adding further solar generation capacity, the company aims to meet a greater share of its electricity requirements through cleaner energy sources.

The captive open access arrangement will enable the generated solar power to be utilized for the company’s business operations, supporting its energy requirements while contributing to its renewable energy objectives.

With the commissioning of the additional capacity, the Jalna facility now has 105 MW DC of installed solar capacity. The development marks another step in Kirloskar Ferrous’ renewable energy expansion and its focus on reducing dependence on conventional power sources.

The company has reiterated its commitment to responsible growth, sustainable operations, and long-term value creation through greater adoption of clean energy.
