Iberdrola Spain and Burger King® Sign Solar Power Agreement to Supply 900+ Restaurants

Iberdrola Spain, the Spanish subsidiary of Iberdrola, has signed a new long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Burger King® for an additional 34 MW of photovoltaic energy. With this latest agreement, the total renewable energy capacity under contract between the two companies now reaches 109 MW—enough to meet the annual electricity demand of more than 900 Burger King® restaurants across Spain.

Under the expanded agreement, Iberdrola Spain will deliver a total of 1,900 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of solar energy to the fast-food chain. The move supports Burger King®’s strategy to increase its use of renewable energy and enhance its energy security.

Iberdrola brings extensive experience in renewable energy PPAs, managing long-term agreements across Spain, Portugal, Germany, Italy, the UK, the US, Brazil, Mexico, and Australia, covering both wind and solar projects.
