iForte And SPINDO To Develop 6.3 MWp Hybrid Solar Power Plant In Java

PT iForte Energi Nusantara has partnered with PT Steel Pipe Industry of Indonesia Tbk (SPINDO) to develop a major renewable energy project in Java. The companies say the project will become the largest hybrid on-grid solar power plant on the island, marking an important step toward greener industrial operations in Indonesia.

The main part of the agreement is the construction of a solar power plant with an installed capacity of 6.3 megawatt peak (MWp). The facility will be combined with a 1 megawatt-hour (MWh) battery energy storage system (BESS). This hybrid system will help manage fluctuations in solar generation and match the electricity supply with the steel plant’s operational needs. By integrating battery storage, the system can store excess solar energy during the day and use it when demand is high or sunlight is limited.

Alongside this new development, iForte confirmed that several rooftop solar systems at SPINDO’s facilities are already in operation. Units 1, 2, and 3 have been commissioned with a combined capacity of 2.1 MWp. These rooftop projects were launched in 2025 and are now contributing to SPINDO’s overall energy consumption.

iForte operates as a renewable energy services provider under PT Profesional Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk and focuses on rooftop solar solutions for industrial clients. The company promotes a zero capital expenditure, or zero-CapEx, model. Under this approach, customers do not need to invest upfront capital. Instead, the company applies a “sharing the savings” scheme supported by green loan financing, allowing industries to adopt solar power without financial strain.

The partnership reflects a broader trend among Indonesian manufacturers to reduce carbon emissions and improve energy security. By combining solar power with battery storage, SPINDO aims to increase energy independence while advancing its sustainability targets.
