JinkoSolar Marks 20 Years with Global Tech Day and the Launch of Tiger Neo 5.0

In 2006, JinkoSolar started with a simple idea: “All In Solar.” Twenty years later, the message is “Solar For All.” To mark the anniversary, JinkoSolar held its 2026 Global Tech Day in Shanghai this October. More than 400 customers from over 100 countries came to see where solar, storage and AI go next.

Twenty years in numbers
As of the end of Q2 2026, JinkoSolar has shipped more than 420 GW of solar modules worldwide. More than 250 GW of these are Tiger Neo modules, the best-selling module series in the company’s history.

Tiger Neo 5.0: made for premium homes
The main launch was Tiger Neo 5.0, unveiled by CEO Charlie Cao on 17 October. It’s built for villas and premium homes, where roof space is limited, power use is high and the look of the roof matters.

“Our vision for Tiger Neo 5.0 was to develop a panel specialized for luxury rooftop, and push the outer limits of high performance rooftop solar,” said Cao.

The first version is an all-black 48-cell module, sized 1762 x 1134 mm. It delivers up to 510 W with a module efficiency of 25.52%. Its power temperature coefficient is -0.24%/°C, so it keeps producing well in hot weather.

What TAC does
Tiger Neo 5.0 runs on JinkoSolar’s new TAC cell technology. TAC combines the strengths of two proven technologies, TOPCon and heterojunction (HJT). The front of the cell has no metal lines, so more sunlight gets in. Peak cell efficiency reaches 28%.

“It blends seamlessly into building rooftops thanks to over 95% cell coverage and a unified, all-black aesthetic,” said Zang Pengfei, General Manager of Technical Services at JinkoSolar.

One technology for one job
JinkoSolar sees TAC as the start of a new approach: one technology for one scenario. Tiger Neo 5.0 is for premium rooftops. Tiger Neo 3.0 stays the main choice for utility, C&I, agrivoltaics, floating solar and other large projects, where high bifaciality and strong low-light yield matter most.

Solar, storage and AI
The event also showed new Jinko ESS products, including SunTera G4 for utility-scale storage and SunGiga G2 for C&I. Chairman Li Xiande described the industry’s next shift as moving “from watts to tokens,” as more solar power goes to run AI computing.

What it means for the Indo-Pacific
The Indo-Pacific, from Pakistan to the Philippines, has some of the fastest-growing rooftop markets in the world, and some of the hottest climates.

Daniel Liu, General Manager, Indo-Pacific said “Twenty years ago, we started with one belief: solar is for everyone. Today, homes and businesses across our region trust Jinko on their roofs. Tiger Neo 5.0 shows how far solar has come. We’ll keep working with our partners, market by market, to bring the right product to the right roof.”
