JSW Energy Reports 38% PAT Growth To INR 1,141 Crore In Q2 FY27 As Capacity Reaches 15,147 MW

JSW Energy Limited reported strong financial and operational performance for the second quarter and half year ended September 30, 2026, supported by capacity additions, higher power generation and increased electricity demand across India. The company recorded growth in revenue, earnings and power sales during the quarter, reflecting the expansion of its operating portfolio and improved plant performance.

The company’s total revenue increased by 24% year-on-year (YoY) to ₹6,658 crore in Q2 FY27, compared with ₹5,361 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year. Consolidated earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) rose by 23% YoY to ₹3,907 crore. Profit after tax (PAT) increased by 38% to ₹1,141 crore, compared with ₹824 crore in Q2 FY26. Cash PAT also grew by 39% YoY to ₹2,099 crore during the quarter.

For the first half of FY27, JSW Energy reported total revenue of ₹12,094 crore, marking a 12% increase from the corresponding period last year. Consolidated EBITDA also rose by 12% to ₹7,009 crore, reflecting continued growth in the company’s power generation business and expanding capacity base.

Operational performance improved during the quarter, with total net power generation increasing by 17% YoY to 17,504 million units (MUs). Electricity sales under long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs) grew by 22% to 16.4 billion units (BUs), supported by capacity additions and improved plant load factors.

JSW Energy’s renewable energy generation increased by 21% YoY to 8.6 BUs, while thermal power generation rose by 13% to 8.9 BUs. These figures highlight the contribution of both renewable and conventional power assets to the company’s overall generation performance.

The company’s total installed capacity reached 15,147 MW as of October 5, 2026, following the addition of 1,694 MW during FY27. JSW Energy also completed the acquisition of a 300 MW thermal power plant in Maruti, Rajasthan, further expanding its generation portfolio. The company is progressing with its Strategy 3.0 growth plan, which targets 30 GW of installed capacity by 2030.

The performance came amid strong electricity demand across India. All-India power demand increased by 11.1% YoY to 499 BUs in Q2 FY27, driven by persistent heat and humidity, along with rising irrigation requirements. Peak power demand reached 270 GW during the quarter, creating a supportive environment for power producers.

JSW Energy maintained a net debt-to-equity ratio of 1.79 times, while trade receivables stood at 63 days. The company continues to focus on expanding its renewable energy and energy storage portfolios alongside its conventional generation business.

With its capacity expansion programme, diversified generation mix and long-term growth strategy, JSW Energy is positioning itself to address India’s increasing electricity requirements while advancing its broader sustainability objectives.
