French hydrogen producer Lhyfe has purchased 10 new Type IV tube trailers, bringing its hydrogen transportation fleet to 84.
The Hexagon Purus-made trailers will transport green hydrogen from Lhyfe’s 21MW of installed capacity, a portfolio it aims to expand by 70% within 2026.
The undisclosed value investment comes as the firm expands through supply deals, including with automotive major and TotalEnergies’ and Air Liquide’s hydrogen refuelling joint venture (JV), .
Lhyfe, which is also eyeing hydrogen production projects in Germany through a with construction firm Strabag, says it will support a ramp-up in deliveries.
Hexagon Purus, a Norwegian technology player, produces high-pressure Type IV storage systems ranging from 10ft to 45ft for transport via road, rail, and water.
After a rocky 2025 marked by declining hydrogen sales in Western markets, the company appeared to pivot toward Asia, launching a (MEGC) in February through its joint venture with China’s CIMC Enrich.
Matthieu Guesné, CEO of Lhyfe, said the tube trailers will support the development of the green hydrogen supply chain.
“The sector will require multiple distribution formats to meet diverse use cases, and we are ready to deliver on those needs,” he added.
Chief Strategy Officer of Lhyfe, Luc Graré, that uncertainty around the delivery of hydrogen pipeline infrastructure in Germany is encouraging alternative delivery arrangements for consumers.
