NTPC Green Energy Welcomes New CEO Sarit Maheshwari

NTPC Green Energy Ltd., the renewable energy subsidiary of India’s largest power utility, has appointed Mr. Sarit Maheshwari as its new Chief Executive Officer. This strategic appointment comes as the company continues to scale up its green energy portfolio in line with national sustainability targets.

Mr. Maheshwari brings with him over 34 years of experience within NTPC Limited, having started his career with the company in 1990. His leadership journey has been marked by successive promotions and key postings across NTPC’s operations. He was appointed Senior Manager in 2005, followed by a promotion to Deputy General Manager in 2009, a role he held for over five years.

Throughout his career, Mr. Maheshwari has held several senior positions including:

Additional General Manager
General Manager of the Talcher Thermal Power Station
Business Unit Head at NTPC Korba

He is currently serving a dual leadership role as the CEO of NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd., underlining his central position in the company’s green transformation strategy.

Mr. Maheshwari is a graduate in Mechanical Engineering from Aligarh Muslim University (1990). He holds an MBA in Accounting and Finance from the Institute of Management Technology (IMT), Ghaziabad (1991), and earned his M.Tech in Power from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi in 1999.

His appointment is expected to strengthen NTPC Green Energy’s momentum in expanding its renewable energy footprint, aligning with India’s ambitious climate and energy goals. Under his leadership, NTPC Green is poised to play a pivotal role in the country’s clean energy transition.
