NTPC Group Crosses 90 GW Commercial Capacity With 50 MW Solar Commissioning In Rajasthan

NTPC Limited has announced the commercial operation of an additional 50 MW solar power capacity through its green energy business, marking another step in the company’s renewable energy expansion. The development was disclosed in an official filing made under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.

According to the disclosure dated July 29, 2026, the newly commissioned capacity is the third part of a 150 MW solar project located in Rajasthan. The solar project forms part of a 100 MW Renewable Energy Round the Clock (RTC) project being developed by Project Eleven Renewable Power Private Limited. The company is a step-down subsidiary of ONGC NTPC Green Private Limited, a joint venture involving NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), the renewable energy arm of NTPC.

The company stated that the commercial operation date (COD) for the newly added 50 MW capacity will take effect from 00:00 hours on July 31, 2026. The commissioning strengthens NTPC’s growing renewable energy portfolio and supports its long-term clean energy goals.

Following the addition, the total installed capacity of the NTPC Green Energy Limited group has increased to 10,836.56 MW from the earlier 10,786.56 MW. The latest commissioning also boosts the overall installed capacity of the NTPC Group to 91,080 MW.

With this milestone, the NTPC Group’s total commercial capacity has crossed the significant 90,000 MW mark, reflecting the company’s continued expansion across both conventional and renewable power generation.

The regulatory disclosures were submitted to the stock exchanges by NTPC Company Secretary and NTPC Green Energy Limited Company Secretary. The filing confirms the successful commissioning of the latest solar capacity and highlights NTPC’s continued progress in expanding India’s renewable energy infrastructure.
