ONGC – NTPC Green Completes 100% Acquisition Of Ayana Renewable Power, Expanding Clean Energy Portfolio

ONGC NTPC Green Private Limited (ONGPL), a joint venture between NTPC Green Energy Limited and ONGC Green Limited, completed the acquisition of a 100% equity stake in Ayana Renewable Power Private Limited on March 27, 2025. This strategic move strengthens ONGPL’s presence in India’s renewable energy sector.

Ayana Renewable Power, a key player in clean energy, has a total capacity of approximately 4,112 MW, with 2,123 MW in operation and 1,989 MW under construction. Its projects are spread across resource-rich states and have long-term power purchase agreements with high-credit-rated off-takers, including SECI, NTPC, GUVNL, and Indian Railways.

With this acquisition, NTPC Green Energy Limited’s total operational capacity, including its subsidiaries and joint ventures, has increased to 5.9 GW. The move aligns with NTPC’s strategy to expand its renewable portfolio and contribute to India’s clean energy transition.
