Power Exchange India Limited (PXIL) successfully conducted the second Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) trading session for June 2025, in line with CERC’s directives under Order of Petition 379-MP-2024. This marked the 6th session for FY 2025–26 and the 51st overall auction under the CERC REC Regulations, 2022, which have been in effect since December 5, 2022.

A total of 15.65 lakh RECs were transacted during this session. Ahead of the auction, over 417.17 lakh RECs were available for trade in the market.

The trading was conducted under the guidance of the Delhi High Court’s Daily Order dated 11.05.2023, which lifted earlier restrictions on the sale of RECs issued before October 31, 2022. As a result, all RECs held by selling entities were eligible for trade in this session.

The auction included:

  • Non-Solar RECs issued before April 1, 2017, traded at a floor price of ₹1,500/MWh, as per CERC’s Order in Petition No. 2/SM/2017 dated March 30, 2017.
  • RECs from various renewable technologies, including Solar, Wind, Hydro, Small Hydro, Biomass, and others.
