At the ‘Rising Rajasthan Summit’ in Jaipur, Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy, Shri Pralhad Joshi, hailed Rajasthan’s pivotal role in India’s renewable energy revolution. Addressing the session on ‘Transition Towards a Sustainable Energy Economy,’ the Minister stated, “Rajasthan stands at the forefront of India’s renewable energy revolution,” noting the state’s bold targets, progressive policies, and recent investments.

The Minister also commended Rajasthan’s launch of the Integrated Clean Energy Policy 2024, which sets a target of achieving 125 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030. This ambitious policy is seen as a significant contribution to the national goal of 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030, a vision outlined by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. “These incentives reflect Rajasthan’s commitment to fostering a thriving ecosystem for renewable energy investments,” Shri Joshi added.

Rajasthan’s renewable energy achievements were highlighted, with the state having an installed capacity of 30.31 GW, including 24.55 GW from solar power, making it the national leader in solar energy generation. The Union Minister also acknowledged the Rajasthan Investment Promotion Scheme 2024, which offers substantial incentives to investors in the renewable energy sector.

Shri Joshi praised India’s renewable energy sector, which has expanded rapidly under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership. He urged Rajasthan to expedite the implementation of key initiatives such as the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, and called for the fast-tracking of the state’s Green Hydrogen Policy to establish Rajasthan as a hub for emerging green technologies.

The Minister also noted the innovative discussions at the Summit on renewable energy technologies, including solar, wind, and hydrogen, alongside breakthrough financing mechanisms and investment opportunities. “Rajasthan has the potential to become a global hub for renewable energy innovation,” he said.

During the event, Shri Joshi announced the approval of a 2000 MW Solar Park project by Rajasthan Solar Development Corporation, which will receive 30% Central Financial Assistance. The Union Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to collaborating with all stakeholders to boost the renewable energy sector.

The event was attended by key dignitaries including Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma, Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Shri Heera Lal Nagar, Minister for Energy, Government of Rajasthan, and other officials.
