Sandy Khera Wins Prestigious Clean Energy CEO Award for Driving Growth from 172 MW to 1.1 GW

Mr. Sandy Khera, Country Manager & CEO of Enel Green Power India Pvt. Ltd. (EGP India), has been honoured with the prestigious “Best Clean Energy CEO Award” at the Future Energy Leadership Summit 2025. This recognition celebrates his visionary leadership, transformative contributions, and unwavering commitment to accelerating India’s clean energy transition at scale.

With over two decades of experience across renewable energy, infrastructure, and emerging technologies, Mr. Khera has played a pivotal role in shaping India’s green energy ecosystem. Under his stewardship, EGP India’s renewable energy portfolio expanded from 172 MW to over 1.1 GW, establishing the company as a key contributor to the nation’s decarbonization goals. He leads a multidisciplinary team overseeing assets valued at more than USD 500 million, driving operational excellence through innovation, digitalization, and purpose-led strategy.

Sustainability and ESG integration define his leadership ethos. Under his guidance, EGP India has strengthened its community development initiatives, created green job opportunities, and supported socio-economic empowerment in alignment with India’s climate goals and global sustainable development frameworks. 

Beyond his corporate role, he contributes actively to the sector through leadership positions including Chair of FICCI’s Renewable Energy Developers’ Taskforce, Founding Governing Council Member of WIPPA, and Board Member of the Indo-Italian Chamber of Commerce & Industry. He has also partnered with Start Up India to launch the Enel Innovation Challenge, supporting emerging technologies and next-generation startups in solar, wind, AI, safety, and analytics.
