Saudi Arabia has announced the list of qualified bidders for a 4.5 GW renewable energy tender under its National Renewable Energy Program (NREP). The tender includes five renewable energy projects across Saudi Arabia’s four provinces, as part of the country’s push towards clean energy.

The projects are:

  • Dawadmi Wind Project: A 1,500 MW wind project in Riyadh Province.
  • Najran Solar PV Project: A 1,400 MW solar power project in Najran Province.
  • Samtah Solar PV Project: A 600 MW solar project in Jizan Province.
  • Ad Darb Solar PV Project: Another 600 MW solar project in Jizan Province.
  • As Sufun Solar PV Project: A 400 MW solar project in Hail Province.

The Saudi Power Procurement Company (SPPC), responsible for the tendering and energy procurement, issued the Request for Qualification (RfQ) as part of its efforts to meet the NREP’s target. The program aims to achieve 50% renewable energy generation in the nation’s power mix by 2030, with plans to tender 20 GW of additional renewable capacity in the coming years. The overall goal is to achieve a renewable energy capacity of 100–130 GW by the end of the decade.

Saudi Arabia has released the list of qualified bidders for its sixth round of renewable energy projects, encompassing both solar and wind Independent Power Producer (IPP) projects. These initiatives are part of the kingdom’s National Renewable Energy Program (NREP) to bolster its clean energy generation capacity.
