SECI’s 7th Green Ammonia Auction Yields Price of ₹51.89/kg; Acme Cleantech Wins Bid for Coromandel International

The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has concluded its 7th Green Ammonia auction under the SIGHT Scheme (Mode-2A), discovering a price of ₹51.89 per kilogram.

M/s Acme Cleantech Solutions Pvt. Ltd. emerged as the successful bidder, securing supply of 50,000 tonnes per annum (TPA) for Coromandel International Limited’s Vishakhapatnam facility.

The outcome reflects continuing cost compression in India’s green ammonia sector, with prices across recent auctions ranging from ₹55.75/kg to ₹50.75/kg. Industry observers say the trend indicates a stabilizing market at globally competitive levels.

Officials noted that the auctions, conducted through SECI’s e-reverse bidding platform, are supported by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) and the Department of Fertilizers. The partnerships with industry players such as Coromandel International and the active participation of leading developers are seen as critical in accelerating adoption.

“Each round is sharpening benchmarks, strengthening confidence, and reaffirming that green ammonia is on track to become affordable, scalable, and central to industrial decarbonisation,” SECI said in a statement.

With the latest auction, India continues to advance its ambition of becoming a global leader in green hydrogen and its derivatives, supported by competitive pricing and sustained policy push.
