SuperPower Supports 110 MW ThreeW Solar Project in Texas Through Gamer-Backed Clean Energy Initiative

SuperPower, a platform that enables gamers to earn rewards while supporting renewable energy development, has announced its participation in an agreement backing the 110 MW ThreeW Solar Project in Hill County, Texas.

The transaction was facilitated by Ever.green, a clean energy marketplace that connects organisations with renewable energy projects. The ThreeW Solar Project, developed by Mitsui & Co., has recently commenced commercial operations and will add new renewable energy capacity to the ERCOT grid while contributing to local economic development.

SuperPower said the initiative enables thousands of gamers to collectively support new renewable energy projects through their platform subscriptions. The company uses a Virtual Power Purchase Agreement (VPPA) structure, allowing individual participants to back utility-scale clean energy projects in a model traditionally used by large corporations, utilities and hyperscale technology companies.

According to the company, the ThreeW Solar Project is expected to generate approximately 280,000 MWh of clean electricity annually, helping to avoid greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to removing nearly 30,000 passenger vehicles from the road each year.

The project has been developed on non-critical farmland and incorporates low-impact land management practices, including sheep grazing for vegetation control, to support sustainable site operations.

SuperPower said the initiative marks the beginning of its broader strategy to enable gamers to participate directly in supporting the deployment of new renewable energy capacity while earning rewards through its platform.

Ever.green noted that the agreement demonstrates how innovative procurement models can broaden access to clean energy participation beyond traditional corporate buyers and help accelerate renewable energy development in local communities.
