Tigo Energy, Inc., a leader in intelligent solar and energy software solutions, has introduced its new High-Performance Off-Grid Solar package, developed in response to growing customer demand for a simplified and efficient solution for off-grid solar-plus-storage systems. As off-grid solar photovoltaic (PV) adoption continues to rise globally—with the market expected to grow at an annual rate of around 8% through 2030—Tigo aims to streamline deployment while enhancing solar energy production and storage capabilities.
The new package is designed to bring the company’s Total Quality Solar (TQS) approach to off-grid applications by offering a fully integrated system that emphasizes ease of installation, improved energy efficiency, and comprehensive functionality. At the heart of the package is the Tigo EI Residential Solar Solution, available in DC-coupled storage configurations of either 20kWh or 40kWh. These setups ensure continuous power for homes and businesses, including support for generator integration to enhance energy reliability in off-grid scenarios. The system is currently available through experienced solar distributors such as Zonna Energy.
Archie Roboostoff, vice president of software at Tigo Energy, mentioned, “While generating power away from the grid was one of the original applications for solar, those systems have historically been both complex and custom configurations; our High-Performance Off-Grid Solar package changes that. With this combination of products, Tigo is not only making installation simple, but we are also providing an assembly of off-grid solar equipment that delivers outstanding energy production by helping to eliminate losses and inefficiencies across modules, the inverter, and the battery system.”
Matt Smucker, President at Zonna Energy LLC, said in a statement, “When designing solar systems outside the reach of the grid, maximizing production and efficiency are the name of the game, and we’re excited to see how Tigo can deliver on that with this off-grid package. Tigo has fully optimized the design and installation process for installers, making it very easy for off-grid solar installers to deploy the system out in the wild. We look forward to working with Tigo to fill the demand for integrated off-grid systems, which our customers consistently request.”
One standout feature of the package is its self-guided activation process, which allows installers to independently configure off-grid operations using the Tigo EI App. The system also includes advanced energy management capabilities and a DC architecture that reduces common energy losses associated with power conversion, shading, and module mismatch.
The Tigo High-Performance Off-Grid Solar package will be showcased at the Annual Zonna Solar Conference, scheduled for May 6–7 in Berlin, Ohio. Customers and installers interested in exploring system configurations or availability are encouraged to visit the product website or attend an upcoming product webinar for more information.
