The Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) has issued a tender for the design, engineering, construction, and commissioning of a 234 MW grid-connected floating solar photovoltaic (FSPV) plant at the Maithon Dam Reservoir in Jharkhand. The project also includes a comprehensive operation and maintenance (O&M) contract for ten years.

The bidding process, conducted through the e-tendering platform, follows a single-stage, three-envelope system and includes an online reverse auction. Interested bidders can download the tender documents from December 2, 2024, with the submission deadline set for January 7, 2025. The estimated bid security or earnest money deposit (EMD) for participation is ₹10.2 crore, with a non-refundable tender document fee of ₹35,000.

Eligible bidders must demonstrate significant technical expertise, having completed cumulative ground-mounted or floating solar PV projects of at least 100 MW capacity. Financial requirements include a minimum average annual turnover of ₹408 crore over the last three years and a net worth of 100% of the paid-up share capital.

The successful contractor will be responsible for supply, installation, and testing, along with ongoing O&M services. The completion timeline for the solar project is set at 18 months from the issuance of the Letter of Award (LOA).

DVC has emphasized compliance with the government’s “Make in India” policy, requiring solar modules to be sourced from domestic manufacturers listed under the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM).

This project aligns with DVC’s commitment to renewable energy expansion and aims to enhance the utilization of the Maithon Dam Reservoir for sustainable energy solutions.
