BayWa r.e. Solar Trade Expands Commercial Energy Storage Offering Across Europe Through Strategic Partnership with WHES

BayWa r.e. Solar Trade, a global leader in photovoltaic distribution, is expanding its footprint in the commercial energy storage sector across Europe. Through a new strategic partnership with Tier-1 manufacturer WHES, BayWa r.e. will now offer WHES battery storage systems in several key European markets. “With WHES, we’ve gained a partner that meets our high standards for quality, safety, and system integration,” says Alexander Schütt, Chief Operating Officer at BayWa r.e. Solar Trade. “The systems are an excellent addition to our existing portfolio – both technically and strategically.”

“This agreement is a major milestone for WHES as we scale our commercial storage offering across Europe,” adds John Susa, Chief Sales Officer at WHES. “Partnering with BayWa r.e. Solar Trade gives us unmatched access to key regional markets and reinforces our shared vision of accelerating the clean energy transition with best-in-class technology and service.”

Under exclusive agreements, BayWa r.e. will distribute the systems in Germany, Italy, Belgium, Luxembourg, Spain, Portugal, Austria, Switzerland, Lithuania, Greece, Albania, and Kosovo.

Tailored for Commercial & Industrial (C&I) applications, the WHES systems feature a modular, all-in-one design. They include proprietary power conversion (PCS) and energy management systems (EMS), and utilize battery modules from strategic shareholder CATL—renowned globally for their quality, durability, and safety.
