Q ENERGY wrapped up 2024 by selling two solar projects in Spain to Dos Grados, a company that focuses on acquiring and managing sustainable real estate. The two photovoltaic (PV) power plants, each with a capacity of 52.4 MWp, are situated near Tordesillas in northern Spain, within the Castilla y León region.

Even though the sale has been completed, Q ENERGY will continue to be involved in the projects. They will handle the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) and oversee the operation and maintenance for the first two years after the plants are commissioned. Construction on the plants has already begun.

The management team of Q ENERGY mentioned, “This deal once again underlines Q ENERGY’s expertise in developing and realising high-value renewable energy projects. We are proud to support the Spanish energy market with a development pipeline of around 5 GW of green power plants. Thus, the Tordesillas project is a further great milestone, with more to follow in the coming months.”

The two plants will feature over 170,000 solar panels and will be built close to one another on a nearly 220-hectare site. By the summer of 2026, the combined capacity of 105 MWp is expected to produce enough clean energy to power around 59,000 homes, reducing CO2 emissions by more than 790,000 tons. The total value of the deal is around €80 million, with legal support from Uría Menendez and financial advice from KPMG Corporate Finance and Transaction Services.
