Saltillo-headquartered industrial, specialty, and medical gas manufacturer and distributor AOC Gases (AOC) has inaugurated a new 150 tonnes per day (tpd) air separation unit (ASU) in Mexico.
AOC said the planning, engineering and construction of the ASU took four years.
The ASU accompanies the company’s existing cryogenic plant, which has a production capacity of 420 tonnes of liquid oxygen and 320 tonnes of liquid nitrogen per month.
AOC also operates an acetylene production plant, a hydrogen filling plant, and 10 ten further filling plants.
In 2023, the company opened its expanding its operations in Brownsville, Texas.
AOC now has 19 branches across northern Mexico and the US, with the Brownsville branch remaining as its only US site.
According to gasworld Intelligence, the estimated total gas demand for oxygen, nitrogen and argon is 64,800 tpd across Mexico.
