CTP, Europe’s largest listed developer and operator of industrial properties, is launching a major project for its long-term partner, Hitachi Energy, at CTPark Brno in the Czech Republic. The first phase of this project includes a €57 million investment in a 50,000 sqm high-voltage products factory. The expected return on cost is over 10%. CTP also has plans to expand the site into a larger campus, adding more services to the industrial park. The new factory will produce gas-insulated lines (GIL) and components for gas-insulated switchgear (GIS), which are essential for electricity transmission and distribution.

It will feature advanced production technologies, including a modern welding shop using friction stir welding, an automated powder coating facility, and a new service center. Designed to meet the highest quality standards, the facility will include automatic temperature, lighting, and humidity controls to create a comfortable work environment. The project is expected to generate around 200 jobs. A unique feature is the underground parking lot located directly beneath the building for employee convenience.

CTP has prioritized sustainability in this development, incorporating heat pumps and solar panels to improve energy efficiency. The company aims for the prestigious BREEAM Outstanding certification, reflecting its commitment to environmental responsibility. Following the factory’s completion, CTP will develop a nearby campus to enhance the work environment and attract visitors. The campus will feature offices, residences, a café, and other services, along with flexible CTBox units suitable for showrooms, warehouses, and production spaces.

Pavel Kovář, Country Managing Director Hitachi Energy for the Czech Republic and Slovakia, mentioned “Our factory in Brno is one example of our commitment to rapidly expand our global capacity to meet the accelerating demand generated by the transition to clean energy. This project in CTPark Brno will provide us with an ideal background for production of our eco-efficient EconiQ portfolio, which eliminates the use of sulfur hexafluoride (SF6), the most potent greenhouse gas, from high-voltage equipment. Our investment of over 1.1 billion CZK will increase production capacity and address the growing demand for sustainable energy solutions.”

“We are very pleased to be able to deliver this ambitious project for our long-standing partner Hitachi Energy. This state-of-the-art, high-tech facility being built at CTPark Brno is an example of our commitment to sustainability and innovation. We believe that the project will contribute to the further development of our park and will provide our clients and employees not only with a state-of-the-art working environment, but also support for their growth and development,” stated Michal Dospěl, Regional Construction Director of CTP.

Hitachi Energy has been working with CTP since 2014, initially leasing 15,000 sqm and steadily expanding its presence. As a global leader in power and automation, the company focuses on innovative solutions in power generation, transmission, and distribution, with a strong emphasis on renewable energy and digitalization. This latest project at CTPark Brno showcases their continued commitment to cutting-edge technology and efficient resource use.
