Powering Progress: GoodWe’s Strategic Role in Bangladesh’s Solar & Storage Revolution – Mahir Shariar, Country Manager (Bangladesh)

How do you view the current growth trajectory of the solar and storage market in Bangladesh, particularly in the commercial and industrial (C&I) segment?

Bangladesh’s Commercial & Industrial (C&I) sector has experienced significant solar growth since the COVID-19 pandemic, driven largely by the country’s robust textile, ready-made garment (RMG), ceramics, and food & beverage industries. Facing persistent power outages and government sustainability pressure these industrial groups find rooftop solar a reliable and cost-effective solution.

The demand for solar solutions has also expanded to export-oriented companies, influenced by buyer pressure and the pursuit of LEED certification. The market is now well-informed about solar energy’s benefits, attracting numerous foreign solar companies over the past two years. Their aggressive entry is expected to have a lasting impact on the market’s future.

What role is GoodWe playing in supporting Bangladesh’s clean energy goals, and how do your technologies align with local market needs?

GoodWe actively supports Bangladesh’s clean energy transition through solar solutions tailored to the local market, spanning residential, C&I, and utility scales. A core market differentiator is our ability to provide high-quality, reliable products at competitive price points aligned with local economics, enhancing accessibility and scalability.

However, our commitment extends beyond product supply. We are deeply invested in ecosystem development — supporting EPCs through technical training, collaborating closely with project developers for successful execution, and educating end users to make informed decisions.

Can you highlight GoodWe’s key product offerings or recent deployments in the C&I storage segment that are specifically suited for the Bangladeshi market?

GoodWe offers a comprehensive portfolio of inverter and energy storage solutions tailored to meet the unique needs of the Bangladeshi C&I market. Our on-grid inverters including the XS G3, DNS G3, SDT G3, GT, and SMT series are specifically engineered to perform reliably under local grid conditions. These models are known for their durability, high efficiency, and adaptability, making them ideal for long-term performance in a challenging operating environment.

In the energy storage segment, GoodWe is expanding its offerings to support both residential and commercial users. For residential hybrid systems, we offer the ES Uniq paired with the Lynx A battery Series, as well as the ET LV series paired with the BAT 14  both providing robust, flexible storage solutions for households looking to enhance energy independence.

For larger commercial and industrial applications, our ET 50/100 series combined with the BAT 50/100 offers scalable energy storage tailored to manage peak loads and ensure backup power. Additionally, our fully integrated ESA 125kW/261kWh solution delivers a compact, high-capacity system ideal for larger-scale deployments.

What are GoodWe’s strategic plans for expanding its presence and service capabilities in Bangladesh over the next two to three years?

GoodWe’s 2-3 year strategy for Bangladesh centres on building a stronger foundation:

We’re focused on helping our local EPC partners feel confident and capable by providing hands-on training and product know-how. The idea is to make sure they’re not just installing our systems but really understand them so they’re well-prepared to deliver great support and service every step of the way.

We’re partnering closely with our local distributors to reach more people, simplify the supply process, and create a strong sales and support network that’s reliable and ready to serve communities all over the country.

We plan to launch targeted marketing initiatives, both online and offline, to raise awareness about solar technology, promote GoodWe’s value proposition, and drive adoption across all key segments.

GoodWe aims not just to grow market share, but to contribute meaningfully to the long-term development of Bangladesh’s solar ecosystem.

How is GoodWe positioning itself as a leader in Bangladesh’s growing solar-plus-storage and smart energy market?

GoodWe is rapidly establishing itself as a key player in Bangladesh’s evolving solar-plus-storage and smart energy market through a focused and strategic approach. We’ve teamed up with a strong national distributor to get our products everywhere and back them up with local support. Our competitive pricing strategy continues to make high-quality solar and storage technology accessible across commercial, industrial, and residential segments.

We are also actively expanding our network, thanks to the strength of our product performance, service reliability, and long-term value.

Performance you can trust, and long-term value are fueling our network expansion. With strong local ties, strategic growth, and cutting-edge tech, GoodWe isn’t just participating we’re helping lead Bangladesh toward a smarter, sustainable energy future.
