Tigo Energy Welcomes Zerun As Newest Rapid Shutdown Technology Licensee To Enhance Solar Safety

Tigo Energy, Inc., a top provider of smart solar and energy software solutions, has announced a new licensing agreement with Zerun Co., LTD. Zerun, a high-tech company focused on intelligent photovoltaic deployments, has licensed Tigo’s rapid shutdown technology for its module-level products. This agreement allows Zerun to use the technologies covered by several of Tigo’s patents related to rapid shutdown.

Tigo is a leading company in rapid shutdown technology and Module Level Power Electronics (MLPE). It holds over 150 patents, either granted or pending, and actively licenses its patented technology to other solar equipment manufacturers. Tigo has also won several patent disputes. The company’s rapid shutdown technology meets key safety standards, including UL 1741 (which covers inverters, converters, controllers, and interconnection systems for distributed energy resources), IEC 63257, and the U.S.

National Electric Code (NEC) rapid shutdown requirements. Tigo’s MLPE products are installed in millions of solar systems worldwide, offering optimized performance, monitoring, and safety to ensure the protection of solar energy infrastructure. These products contribute to a consistent return on investment (ROI) over the entire lifespan of renewable energy systems.
