PIXON has secured MNRE ALMM approval for 2.391 GW of solar module manufacturing capacity, including 1.646 GW of TOPCon modules and 745 MW of Mono PERC modules. The approval strengthens the company’s domestic manufacturing footprint and supports India’s ongoing efforts to build self-reliant, high-efficiency solar manufacturing capabilities under the ALMM framework.

Uttar Pradesh Energy Expo 2026 will begin tomorrow in Lucknow, bringing together policymakers, developers, DISCOMs, manufacturers, and clean energy stakeholders. The event will focus on solar, storage, EV infrastructure, smart grids, and energy policy while highlighting Uttar Pradesh’s growing role in India’s clean energy and sustainable industrial transition.

Pratap Technocrats has secured a ₹776.13 crore contract from NTPC for deployment of a 570 MWh battery energy storage system project. The project spans NTPC’s Gadarwara and Khargone thermal stations and is expected to improve grid flexibility, renewable integration, and peak demand management through large-scale battery storage deployment.

India’s solar sector attracted approximately $2.37 billion in foreign direct investment during 2025 despite a broader slowdown in energy-sector investments. Strong policy support, manufacturing expansion, rising project activity, and increasing confidence in India’s renewable growth story continued to drive investor interest across the solar value chain.

The Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet, along with Startup India, has launched ENTICE 3.0 to support innovative clean-tech startups focused on grid modernisation. The programme targets technologies such as non-lithium storage and AI-enabled forecasting while offering grants, mentorship, pilot opportunities, and investor engagement support.

ACME Solar Holdings announced that the Appellate Tribunal for Electricity has admitted an appeal filed by its subsidiary concerning disputed tax claims worth ₹7.82 crore. The matter relates to GST and Basic Customs Duty claims previously disallowed by RERC, with further legal proceedings expected in the coming months.

Military Engineer Services has invited bids for operations and maintenance-related work for a 5 MW solar power plant project at Mhow. The tender reflects continued government emphasis on maintaining renewable energy assets efficiently while strengthening clean energy infrastructure across institutional and defence-linked facilities.

Bridge and Roof Company has invited bids for enabling works associated with a 26 MW floating solar project at NTPC Sipat in Chhattisgarh. The scope includes civil and electrical enabling activities, logistics support, manpower deployment, and project infrastructure works required for floating solar installation and execution.

NTPC Renewable Energy Limited has invited bids for a 1,200 MW solar balance-of-system package in Andhra Pradesh’s Anantapur district. The project includes engineering, procurement, tracker systems, civil works, electrical infrastructure, grid connectivity, and operations and maintenance activities for utility-scale solar deployment.

Coal India Limited has commissioned a 100 MW solar power plant in Gujarat’s Banaskantha district. The project received commissioning approval from GEDA and became operational from March 31, 2026, highlighting the PSU’s continued diversification strategy toward renewable energy and sustainable power generation initiatives.

The Central Electricity Authority has highlighted systemic failures in transmission line insulators across India’s power grid network. The report recommends urgent reforms in material quality, inspection practices, installation standards, and handling procedures to improve transmission reliability and reduce weather-related outage risks across high-voltage infrastructure.

CERC has approved regulatory deviations for a proposed 500 MW pumped storage project jointly planned by utilities in Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. The project introduces a shared-demand structure designed to optimise storage usage across varying seasonal demand periods while improving power procurement and grid balancing flexibility.

The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission has restored connectivity for two renewable energy projects totalling 600 MW in Mandsaur and Solapur. However, penalties were imposed for regulatory violations, with developers directed to comply fully with connectivity norms and applicable charges before project progression.

Indian Energy Exchange recorded 12,341 MU electricity trade volume in April 2026, marking a 16.6% year-on-year increase. Growth was supported by rising electricity demand, increasing renewable energy participation, strong real-time market activity, and heightened market volatility amid record national peak power consumption levels.

SAEL Solar P6 has approached UPERC seeking power cost relief measures for its proposed ₹8,000 crore integrated solar manufacturing project in Uttar Pradesh. The company has requested exemptions on transmission, wheeling, and banking-related charges to improve competitiveness and long-term project viability within India’s solar manufacturing ecosystem.

Public sector undertakings are emerging as key drivers of India’s renewable energy expansion through investments in solar, wind, battery storage, and green hydrogen projects. Strong government backing, infrastructure access, and financial capabilities are enabling PSUs to accelerate clean energy deployment and strengthen national energy security objectives.

Thermax Limited and Ankur Scientific have partnered to establish India’s first green methanol facility at Deendayal Port Authority in Gujarat. The project aims to produce 18,000 tonnes annually using biomass-based technology, supporting cleaner shipping fuel adoption, industrial decarbonisation, and reduced dependence on imported fossil fuels.
