Trinasolar Signs MoU with Al-Raebi to Explore 1.5 GW Solar Project Pipeline in Yemen

Trinasolar has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Al-Raebi for Trading and Solar Energy Systems Company to explore collaboration on a potential 1.5 GW solar project pipeline in Yemen between 2026 and 2029.

Under the agreement, the two companies will assess opportunities to support utility-scale and large commercial solar projects in Yemen and the wider Middle East. The proposed collaboration includes the potential supply of Trinasolar’s latest TOPCon 3.0 photovoltaic (PV) modules to enhance power generation efficiency across future solar installations.

The MoU establishes a framework for evaluating project opportunities, technical requirements and potential cooperation models. The companies said the partnership is aimed at expanding access to reliable and affordable solar energy in Yemen while supporting the country’s growing demand for clean power solutions.

Todd Li, President of Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa Region at Trinasolar, said the agreement represents an important step in strengthening the company’s presence in Yemen and advancing the country’s renewable energy development. He noted that the partnership combines Trinasolar’s PV technology and global project expertise with Al-Raebi’s local market experience to explore long-term opportunities that support energy security and sustainable development across Yemen and the wider Middle East.

Abdullah M. Raebi, Chief Executive Officer and Director of Al-Raebi for Trading and Solar Energy Systems Company, said the collaboration reflects the company’s commitment to delivering reliable, high-quality solar solutions to the Yemeni market while addressing the country’s increasing demand for clean and affordable energy.

The companies said the proposed 1.5 GW pipeline could contribute to diversifying Yemen’s electricity supply by combining advanced solar technology, local market expertise and long-term collaboration to support the country’s energy transition.
